Ambrose Vanzekin Wants Warri Wolves Return

Ex-Nigeria junior international goalkeeper, Ambrose Vanzekin, is aiming to rejoin his former teammates at Warri Wolves,Completesportsnigeria.com understands.

Vanzekin was in between the sticks during the Golden Eaglets’ campaign at the 2003 CAF U-17 Championship in Swaziland.

He went on to feature for the Flying Eagles and the U-23 Olympic team in 2008 in Beijing, China.

The shot-stopper was loaned to Wikki Tourists of Bauchi last season but Complete Sports checks at the Seasiders camp revealed Vanzekin could be on his way back to Warri.

“He has indicated interest in rejoining us. He is still our player. He merely went on loan and his loan period has elapsed,” an official of the club told Complete Sports on Thursday.

“We’re on break at the moment. I do not yet know when the team will regroup but I believe that won’t take long.”

Warri Wolves finished the concluded season in the second position and will campaign in the CAF Champions League next year alongside Enyimba of Aba.

Though there have been reports suggesting some of the club’s players are being sought after by other NPFL clubs, the official said it is not something unusual at this period of the season.

“There must always be transfer speculations during off seasons like this. But then, while stories go round as to our players leaving, there are also other players wanting to join us.

“Remember we’re going to play in the CAF Champions League next year so this makes our club very attractive to other top players,” the official said without wanting his name on print.
