French club Amiens are keen to resolve the transfer logjam involving Super Eagles striker Olanrewaju Kayode whose move to the club fell through on Wednesday, the January transfer deadline day, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Kayode was linked with a loan move to the struggling Ligue 1 club all through January and was in France for the move from Manchester City. But somehow the deal was not completed on deadline day.
“Amiens SC is keen to comment on the situation of Nigerian international striker Larry Kayode, who was at the Stade de la Licorne last night, hoping to join the club,” Amiens explained on their official website on Thursday.
“All stakeholders agreed within the time frame set by the international regulations. For administrative reasons, the transfer of Larry Kayode has not been validated.
“The three clubs concerned (Manchester City, Girona FC and Amiens SC) are currently working on the follow-up to this case, and on the possible solutions.
“The final decision will be taken by the football authorities, after evaluation of the file.
“Whatever the outcome of this transfer, Amiens SC will be able to count on a competitive workforce and its loyal supporters, to achieve its main goal: the maintenance in Ligue 1 Conforama.
Kayode joined Manchester City last summer from Austria Wien and was immediately loaned to Girona in LaLiga where he has had very little playing time.
Amiens are 15th in the Ligue 1 table with 25 points, just one point off the relegation places.
