Aminu: NFF Is Run Illegally, National Assembly Should Enact Enabling Law

Former Chairman of the Nigeria Football Association Col. Abdulmumini Aminu (rtd.), has stated in clear terms that the current Nigeria Football Federation is being run ‘illegally’ and that there’s need for an enabling law for effective football administration in the country.

Aminu who has been saddled with the responsibility reconciling Nigeria Football Federation warring factions within two weeks as the head of Elder Stakeholders Reconciliation Committee appointed by the sports ministry, says that the leadership tussle between Amaju Pinnick and Chris Giwa has dragged for too long because of lack of laws for the federation.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). Aminu calls on the National Assembly of Nigeria to urgently enact laws which would enhance the operations of the NFF.

Members of the committee inaugurated by sports minister, Barrister Solomon Dalung on Monday includes two former NFF bosses Alh. Ibrahim Galadima and Anthony Kojo Williams. Others are Prof. Onje GyeWado, Dr Sam Sam Jaja (Life Member, NFF Board) and Dr Bolaji Ojo Oba.

“The key to curbing the crisis in the NFF is an Act of the National Assembly,” Aminu told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

“The NFF is illegally run, because there is no law backing it. The NFF is being run by Decree 101 which was used for the NFA.”

“Unless the National Assembly helps to enact an act or create an enabling law for the NFF, we are still going to have problems.”

A bill for an Act to repeal the Nigeria Football Association Law 2004 and Enact the NFF Act to provide for the administration of the game of Football in Nigeria and for other related matters is currently before the National Assembly.

  • What Is this Abdulmumini Aminu man insinuating? Is he subtly having a shot at Amaju Pinnick? These are the guys who milk the NFF dry and now they are not happy that Amaju Pinnick is so transparent and he is telling us that the former NFF board are very corrupt. Moreover Amaju Pinnick is rising high in the FIFA slash CAF family. As it stands Amaju Pinnick is now bigger than the NFF president. If he doesn’t win the election he will still be a big fish in FIFA/CAF family. Whatever it is Amaju Pinnick is doing well and loved by the fans including the President and presidency. The club owners also love him so much. So if Aminu wants to support Chris Giwa because he was appointed by the Sports Minister, he should play the game well or he will be burnt.

I said it in my previous posts that this reconciliation is deceptive. This sports minister has a game plan we are watching as events unfolds.
Meanwhile,Abdulmumuni Aminu’s regime spelt doom for Nigeria. He came into the helm of affairs at a time when super eagles where successful and we started going downwards the moment he took over power. He is questionable I don’t trust him.I’m not surprised he was picked to head a dubious committee set up by the sports minister to favour his friend Giwa.Apparently,we don’t need that committee Amaju pinnick is the Nff chairman and the president has given his directive which the sports minister must respect else he gets the chop from the presidency.
I think this sports minister is stubborn and has a chip. It’s time he is taught a lesson I wish I’m the president because I would put Dalung and Giwa in their respective places long ago.
    God bless Nigeria.
