By Richard Jideaka:
Former Super Eagles coach Amodu Shaibu has formally resumed duty as the Technical Director for football development with the Nigeria Football Federation, completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Amodu, who received his letter dated April 1, 2015, refused to disclose what the pay package is like but said the important thing is to bring his wealth of experience to develop the game and take it to the next level
“I am not after the $5,000 that was initially proposed to me as monthly salary but on how to take the game to the next level,” Amodu told completesportsnigeria.com. “I am here to work for the development of Nigeria football. My target will be to work for the progress of Nigeria football vis-a-vis all the national teams from Under-17 to Super Eagles.
“Whatever input I can give directly or indirectly for technical support we will that will bring the best for the coaches to perform with out stress.”
The ex-BCC Lions coach explained that he would start work by listening to both the administrators and coaches at various levels before making any input, adding that the gap between the overseas-based and home-based players have to be bridged by keeping the home-based together in camp ahead of time.
