Ex-Nigeria striker Daniel Amokachi has given a pass mark to three players who made their Super Eagles debut in Saturday's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier victory over Chad in Kaduna.
The Eagles laboured to a 2-0 win over the minnows, with second half goals from Warri Wolves striker Gbolahan Salami and substitute Odion Ighalo. But it was the debutantes who caught Amokachi's eye.
"The new players have shown that they can play for the national team," the former Super Eagles assistant coach said as a guest analyst on AIT. "Ekong, Esiti and Madu played quite well and you know they'll do even better subsequently that the pressure of their debut is off."
Anderson Esiti played in central midfield, William Ekong in central defence, while Kingsley Madu was very impressive at left-back.
