Amoo Savours 3SC Win Over Sunshine, Targets Another Lifeline Points Vs Pillars

By Johnny Edward:

Shooting Stars' Technical Adviser, Fatai Amoo, has applauded his players for their grit in Sunday's 1-0 win over Sunshine Stars of Akure at the Lekan Salami Stadium Ibadan in a Nigeria Professional Football League game, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

An early strike from Ajani Ibrahim in the eight minute sealed the win for Fatai Amoo's side.

The win ended a two game losing streak for the Oluyole Warriors having lost 3-0 to FC Ifeanyiubah and Lobi Stars.

But Amoo warns his wards to step up in their performance and also win against Kano Pillars to brighten their chances of avoiding relegation at the end of the season.

Shooting Stars are still 19th in the NPFL log with 25 points from 22 matches.

They  host Kano Pillars in their next game at the Lekan Salami stadium and Amoo believes a win for his side will gradually bring back the confidence to his squad.

"The manner at which we lost against FC IfeanyiUbah definitely brought so much pressure on us and we needed to win," Amoo told Completesportsnigeria.com after the game against Sunshine Stars in Ibadan.

"I'm delighted at the win because it gave our supporters and fans something to cheer about after the previous  painful defeats,"

"The position we are now sure  comes with pressure, but with 16 games to go, we need to win our next match to get our confidence back. The boys tried their best and if they can do more than they did against Sunshine,  we'll beat Pillars here too."

"We knew Sunshine match would be difficult because it's always more like a derby. We gave all to win it. Our focus is the next game. We must keep working hard."
