Nigeria’s U-17 national team coach Emmanuel Amuneke is looking forward to a rewarding training camp in Argentina ahead of the FIFA U17 World Cup.
The former Zamalek and Barcelona star spoke to Completesportsnigeria.com on the desire of his team to re-enact the feat achieved in 2013 with Amuneke himself one of the assistant coaches to Manu Garba when Nigeria won the FIFA U-17 World Cup in UAE, for a record fourth time.
“We are set to travel tonight (Thursday) for Argentina. I’m happy with the readiness of the players for the final part of our preparations.
“The biggest joy for me is that the players are in good health, no injury amongst the players,” the one-time U-23 star who was also in Nigeria’s Dream Team that won the gold medal of the 1996 Olympics said.
On Nigeria’s 55th independence and high expectations on his team, Amuneke assured that the present crop of Golden Eagle’s stars will play together for a long time and develop into experienced, top notch football stars for Nigeria.
“Well, we’ll not make any ‘Independence Promises’ but we hope to win the U-17 World Cup. Every country going to Chile has the single aim of winning the title and we are no different.
“However, I believe this crop of players will be around for a long time to come and serve this country. We thank Nigerians for their support,” Amuneke told Completesportsnigeria.com.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
