Amuneke Hails Eagles For Tunisia Draw, Alerts Guinea’ll Be Tough Too

Former Super Eagles star Emmanuel Amuneke is optimistic that Nigeria's home-based Super Eagles side will qualify for the quarter finals of the 2016 African Nations Championship.

Sunday Oliseh's team were held to a 1-1 draw by a technically proficient Tunisian side on Friday in their second Group C game in Kigali.

Amuneke spoke to  after the game, on his thoughts about the game.

"Thank God they were able to get a draw in the match. Playing against Tunisia in whatever level is not easy.

"I am also happy for Chisom Chikatara. Scoring today against Tunisia was good for him.

"The way the Tunisian team boasted, you would think Chikatara will not be able to score. He really took the opportunity given to him. But he needs to be level-headed all the same," Amuneke who led Nigeria's Golden Eaglets to win a fifth U-17 World Cup title in Chile last year stated.

Speaking about the team's next game against Guinea, Amuneke said the Eagles will come up against a physical side.

"The Guineans will be physical. But they also play good football. For them to come back and get a draw against Tunisia shows they are a very strong team and I expect a difficult game for our team but let's hope they (Super Eagles) make it to the knock out stages," Amuneke said.

Guinea and Niger played the group's second game of the day.
