Amuneke Hails Tanzania Players’ Brave Showing In Away Draw Vs Uganda

By Adeboye Amosu:
Tanzania head coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, has showered encomiums on his players after they held their hosts Uganda to a 0-0 draw in their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying clash at the Nambole Stadium, Kampala on Saturday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

The encounter was the former Nigeria international’s first competitive game in charge of the Taifa Stars.

Uganda dominated the game, but were unable to find a way past the visitors who put up a resilient performance all through.

The Taifa Stars are still without a win in Group L. They were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Lesotho in their first game .

“We looked at ourselves and worked with our strengths. I have only been with the team for 10 days. I am really happy with them. They want to be a new breed of Tanzanian players,” Amuneke told reporters after the game.

Tanzania will face Cape Verde in their next AFCON qualifier next month.
