Former Zamalek winger Emmanuel Amuneke has issued a stern warning to reigning Nigerian Professional Football League champions Enugu Rangers not to play under pressure if they hope to shock Zamalek in Sunday's CAF Champions League first leg Round of 32 clash, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Ex-Super Eagles star Amunike, who spent three years at Zamalek from 1991 to 1994, featuring in 71 games and scoring 21 goals, believes White Knights will provide a tough test for Rangers.
"Facing Zamalek is the toughest test before Rangers, there will be no game more difficult than that for the Nigerian team in the tournament," Amunike told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"They must ignore the pressure of the fans completely and focus only on what happens on the pitch to perform well.
"Rangers still have a core of the players who won the NPFL title and I think they can do their best to get out a positive outcome of the game in front of one of the continent's strongest teams.
"Zamalek have won this competition five times and they have a great history on the continent of Africa, and now teams across Africa know how to play them."
He added that the Imama Amapakabo's side must be prepared to face a tactically sound side in Zamalek.
"The Whites are a quality side tactically and know how to be resolute in important matches, when to defend and when to attack," Amunike said.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
