Estranged Super Eagles forward, Victor Anichebe looks a sure bet to be in the starting line up for West Bromwich Albion today when they file out at home against Tottenham Hotspure in a Premier League tie at the 28,003-capacity Hawthorns ground.
Anichebe was the Baggies hero last weekend scoring a brace as West Brom defeated hosts Birmingham City 1-2 in an FA Cup tie and the power-playing forward would be looked upon to reproduce such form against a more formidable opponents like Spurs today. Coach Tony Pulis would be favourably disposed to starting the Nigerian international alongside club hotshot with 9 goals, Saido Berahino in the Baggies attack. Anichebe’s compatriot, Brown Ideye is not likely to get a look-in for this tie following the continuous poor form which has seen him been linked away from the club.
West Brom are the underdogs in this tie. Curently sitting 14th on the league table with 22 points, they will need more than home support to overcome the visitors who are 6th on the log with 37 points – a massive 15 points difference.
This tie has all the trappings expected of a potentially interesting and explosive match irrespective of which club emerges victorious at the end of 90 minutes.
