Arokoyo Ruled Out Of MLS Season, Set For Surgery

Portland Timbers Nigerian defender Gbenga Arokoyo has been ruled out of the 2017 Major League Soccer season following an Achilles tendon  injury, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

Timbers announced on their official website on Tuesday that the former Nigeria youth international will undergo surgery to repair a ruptured left achilles tendon.

The club also announced the procedure will be scheduled following further evaluation.

Arokoyo sustained the injury during Timbers' pre season camp in Tucson, Arizona.

The 24-year-old joined Timbers from Turkish club Gaziantepspor in 2016.
