Alex Iwobi and Arsenal have been handed a very difficult 2018/2019 Premier League opening day fixture as they will host champions Manchester city at the Emirates Stadium.
This was confirmed during the release of next season’s fixtures on Premier League’s official website on Saturday. The 2018/2019 Premier League season will kick off on August 11, 2018.
City defeated Arsenal in all their three meetings (home and away in the EPL and final of the Carabao Cup) last season.
Leicester City that parade Super Eagles trio Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Ahmed Musa will have their hands full as they will be guests to Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Leon Balogun will have his baptism of fire in the EPL as his club Brighton and Hove Albion will be away to Watford, Victor Moses and Chelsea will be entertained by Huddersfield Town, and Carl Ikeme’s Wolverhampton Wanderers will mark their return to the EPL with a game game against Everton.
Last season’s UEFA Champions League losing finalists, Liverpool, will welcome West Ham United while Tottenham Hotspur will travel to St. James’ Park to face Newcastle.
And in other fixtures, Bournemouth will be at home to newly promoted Cardiff City, Crystal Palace will visit new boys Fulham and Southampton and Burnely will square off at St. Mary’s.
