Arsenal Legend Claims Barcelona Move Will Take Coutinho’s Game To The Next Level

Former Arsenal great Ian Wright has said Liverpool ace Philippe Coutinho simply cannot pass up on a move to Barcelona this summer if the Spanish club make an offer for him as this will take is game to the next level.

The Spanish giants have intensified their pursuit of Coutinho, in the aftermath of losing one of their prized assets Neymar in a eye-watering €222m move to PSG.

That deal is set to put pressure on the player and put Liverpool in a potentially difficult position of having to keep star man Coutinho from being prised from their grasp.

The Reds have already made their stance on the matter crystal clear, with manager Jurgen Klopp confirming the Brazilian will not be sold at any cost but Wright believes Coutinho cannot and should not turn down the lure of the Catalan side, should an acceptable bid be tabled.

'I'm not saying that they want him to replace Neymar, because I don't think he's that player, but if they want you, you've got to go,' Wright said on BBC 5 live sport.

'That's the dream, that's why I find it baffling that Neymar has gone, he was already at the main place for me.

'But Coutinho, he is fantastic and he will go to that next level if he goes and plays with that calibre of player. You can't turn that down, you just can't,' he added.

Noises coming from Coutinho's camp have suggested the player is open to a move to the Nou Camp, but only should a deal be possible to achieve amicably.

Coutinho is said to be unwilling to force a move away from Anfield, especially with the Reds so adamant on retaining his services.
