Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes Nigeria star Victor Moses is reaping the rewards following the faith shown to him by Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.
Moses has been at Chelsea since 2012 but has managed just 48 league appearances for the Blues during that time having been on loan to Liverpool, West Ham and Stoke City.
But Moses has thrived under Antonio Conte ‘s 3-4-3 formation this term, earning plenty of praise from his coach for his work on and off the ball.
And Wright, who won the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup and European Cup Winners’ Cup with Arsenal, believes Conte giving Moses his vote of confidence at the start of the campaign has helped Moses reach new heights with Chelsea this season.
“I think you need the right manager as well,” Wright told Express Sport.
“I’m sure at the start of the season he thought he was going to go on loan again and Conte’s told him that he’s got a lot of time for him and a lot of love for him.
“Moses has repaid him with his performances and now he’s signed a new contract so some times what you need is a manager to show a bit of love, show a bit of faith and then you’re able to do your stuff.
“You’ve lost all your inhibitions. And he looks like someone who’s playing with freedom.”
