Arsenal winger, Serge Gnabry, has stated that he hopes Germany will continue their quest of clinching the men's football gold by defeating Nigeria in Wednesday's Rio 2016 men's football event semi-finals.
After drawing their first two group games against Mexico and South Korea, Germany have been on a ruthless goal-scoring run.
In their last group game, they destroyed Fiji 10-0 before thrashing Portugal 4-0 in the quarter-finals.
Speaking ahead of the clash against Nigeria, Gnabry, who is the tournament's top scorer with six goals, praised his side's flawless performance against Portugal.
"I think we had a great performance against Portugal. We stuck together as a team, our system worked very well against Portugal and I think we deserved to win," he told FIFA.com.
"Our goal is obviously to win the whole tournament. We came here with this goal and hopefully we can carry on in the next game (against Nigeria)."
The other semi-final is between hosts Brazil and Honduras.
