Nigeria’s top ranked table tennis star, Quadri Aruna, has been listed among the 19 foreign players to compete in the lucrative CEAT Ultimate Table Tennis six-team league in India, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The CEAT Ultimate Table Tennis League will hold in three cities in India – Pune, Delhi and Kolkata from June 14 to July 1, 2018.
The teams listed to take part are Empowerji Challengers, Dabang Smashers T.T.C, Falcons TTC, Maharashtra United, RP-SG Mavericks and Warriors T.T.C.
Quadri will team up with Sharath Kamal, World No. 15 Chuang Chih-Yuan (Chinese Taipei), and World No. 18 Sofia Polcanova (Austria) to represent Warriors T.T.C team in the competition, according to a statement from the Nigerian Table Tennis Federation.
The Warriors TTC will be coached by India’s Raj Rajesh and Hungarian ace, Ferenc Karsai.
The 28 year old will lead his team out in their first game against Dabang Smashers T.T.C , while their their second game will be against Maharashtra United before facing Empowerji Challengers, Falcons TTC and RP-SG Mavericks.
After the league stage, the first and fourth-placed teams will play the first semi-finals on June 29 while the second and third-placed teams play the second semi-final the next day. The final will be on July 1.
