Barcelona and Real Madrid kept the La Liga title hopes alive on Sunday while Atletico dropped out of the race.
Leaders Barcelona defeated Espanyol 5-0, while Real just about edged out Valencia 3-2 to stay alive in one of the tightest races in recent years.
Atletico however lost 2-1 at Levante after having taken the lead.
Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar all scored in Barcelona’s rout of their neighbours, while Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema were on target for Real Madrid.
Fernando Torres scored Atletico’s goal before Guiseppe Rossi scored Levante’s late winner.
The Spanish title will be decided on the final day. Barcelona, on 88 points, lead Real by a point, while Atleti sit third on 85.
