Atletico Madrid have confirmed that French forward Thomas Lemar has joined from AS Monaco.
Atletico Madrid announced Lemar’s signing on their official websie on Monday.
On June 12, Atletico Madrid announced a preliminary deal had been agreed with Monaco on the transfer of Lemar.
However, the deal is pending relevant medical check-up and formalization of the definitive transfer agreement with AS Monaco.
The 22-year-old forward is currently with the French national team in Russia for this summer’s World Cup in Russia.
Meanwhile French star Antoine Griezmann extended his contract with Atletico till 2023.
Griemann’s new deal ends speculation of reports that he could be joining Barcelona next season.
He was on target for France in their 2-1 win against Australia at the 2018 World Cup.
Also, France defender Lucas Hernandez renewed his contract with Atletico as he extended his deal with the UEFA Europa League winners till 2024.
