Atletico Striker, Costa: I’ll Do The Fighting, Suarez Can Do The Biting

Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa has said while he will be in charge of fighting opponents new signing Luis Suarez will do the biting for the team.

Costa stated this after Atletico thrashed Granada 6-1 on Sunday with Suarez bagging a hat-trick in his debut on Sunday.

The former Chelsea star opened the scoring with a headed goal and then came off the pitch in the second half to make way for Suarez.

The treble winner with Barcelona quickly made his mark following his switch by scoring twice and providing an assist in the final 20 minutes.

And speaking after the game Costa said:
“He is very good, one of us can do the fighting and the other can do the biting,” recalling Suarez’s bite on Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini at the 2014 World Cup.

The Uruguay striker also committed similar offences for Liverpool and Ajax.

Costa said he could barely believe his side’s luck in landing Suarez, who scored 198 goals in six seasons with Barcelona but was deemed surplus to requirements by new coach Ronald Koeman.

“We are very lucky to have Luis, I don’t understand how Barca could have let him leave,” Costa said.

“He’s going to help us with lots of goals as well as his warrior spirit and his hunger to win trophies. I hope he can help us win another trophy for our fans, but we need to take each game as it comes.”

Costa, who fired Atletico to the La Liga title in 2014 but has struggled since returning from Chelsea in 2018, has been linked with a move away from the club but vowed to fight for his place, whilst declaring he will leave if necessary.

“I don’t want to fight with them and become a drain on the club, I’ve spoken to the club and the coach and told them I’m ready to leave if they think I should go,” he said.

“But if I stay I’m going to fight to play and I hope I don’t get injured so I can get a good run of games. I have to make the most of my opportunities. Anything can happen this season, the important thing is to be ready and score goals.”

I was shocked Barcelona let go of Luis Suares.I rate him as the best and the most complete number 9 in the world.

Having class players like Joao Felix,Costa and Suares, won’t be surprised Athletico nick the la liga this season.

Surely a big mistake by Barca. Just hoping they won’t regret it.

They sure will.Koeman was in a hurry to make changes and picked on Suares who does that!

I hope he destroys Barcelona when they meet in the league or the champions league,i bet Suares being a professional would want to prove a point with a performance that would make Barcelona to know their successes in the past decade was not solely Messi’s efforts as they and many thinks.

The Barca that crushed Villareal yesterday looked really good without Suarez. Having said that, Suarez is one of the best strikers on the planet, and the decision to let him go has polarized fans. What surprises me though is that clubs like Chelsea and Man City didn’t pounce on Suarez. Especially Man City, who don’t have a striker at the moment with all the injuries. The situation is so bad, Pep had to introduce an academy striker in Liam Delap in the 5-2 humiliation at the hands of Leicester City. It would have made a lot of sense for Man City to break the bank to get Suarez.
