AWCON Final: Falode Urges Falcons To Defy All Pressures And Defeat Cameroon

Chairman of the Nigeria Women Football League, Aisha Falode, has urged the Super Falcons To resist any pressure that might arise from high expectations as the defending champions or from the home fans and inflict a fourth final defeat on the hosts Cameroon in Saturday’s2016 AWCON final, reports.‎

Falode, a Member of the CAF Media Committee, told the coach Florence Omagbemi  girls that they have the capacity to subdue their Cameroonian opponents to maintain their dominance in Women's football in Africa.

She however warned the Cup holders to completely disregard the record books reiterating that it is vital not to allow the expected capacity crowd to distort their game plan.

"Record means nothing; it is the record of now that means something. That is the record that I want you to push for – that you are the defending champions and that you are worthy of that name," Falode stated in a media statement released by the Nigerian Football Federation on Thursday.

"When you get to the stadium, don't see the crowd, see yourselves and see Nigeria as you play, and by the grace of God, you will carry the day.

"I know that you have started feeling the atmosphere since you got to Yaoundé. By the time you will get to the stadium, you will start feeling it but you should not allow the atmosphere drive you,"Falode advised.

"Let it add pressure to them and it should spur you to go on. There's nothing great as defeating people in their own home, in front of their home crowd."

"Play your own game. Don't be under any pressure. Give it your all. See Nigeria when you play, see the jersey that you are wearing when you play, see the passion of the people at home when you play and the millions of fans rooting for you back home.”

Yes you right madam. Super Falcons should go all out and beat the Camerounian team on Saturday. Why not?  They can do so, if Indomitable of Cameroun came to Lagos at the Ghana and Nigeria 2000 nations cup and win in front of their home fans, the Super Falcons can do the same. Though, Cameroun didn't win the match in the right way. However, with God all things are possible. I'm seeing Super Falcons winning on Saturday by 3-0. God bless Nigeria!!!
