Former Super Eagles winger Tijani Babangida has warned the team that they must find a way to stop Croatia duo Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic in today’s (Saturday) Group D clash at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, reports Completesportsnigeria. com.
Modric and Rakitic are rated as two of the best midfielders in the game and also play for two of the biggest clubs in the world , Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The duo will lead the Vatreni’s onslaught against the Super Eagles in the encounter billed for the Kaliningrad Stadium.
And Babangida, who represented Nigeria at the 1998 World Cup in France, insisted that they must find a way of stopping the two players from having an influence in the game.
“Modric and Rakitic are the biggest stars in the Croatia team and will be the key men for them against the Super Eagles,” Babangida told CSN.
“If we want to win the game, we must find a way of stopping the two of them from having any kind of influence in the midfield.
“It’s going to be a tough game but I believe we can beat them if our players pay attention to details and put in their best all through.”
