Fast-rising boxer Rilwan "Babyface" Babatunde has emerged as the best boxer at the 11th edition of the GOtv Boxing Night held at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan (formerly Liberty stadium) on Sunday night.
Babatunde, 20, knocked out Waliu "Oganla" Arogundade in round four of their eight-round national light welterweight challenge bout.
For emerging the best boxer, Babatunde went home with the cash prize of 2 million naira and the Mojisola Ogunsanya trophy.
Babatunde becomes the first boxer to win 2 million naira at the GOtv Boxing Night.
The main bout of the night was a 12 rounds West African lightweight title bout between Otto "Joe Boy" Joseph and Ghana's Ayitey Mettle which Joseph won via technical knock out in round one.
In the national light welterweight challenge bout, Olaide "Fijaborn" Fijabi saw off debutant at the GOtv Boxing Night Vincent Essien.
After holding out for two rounds, Essien finally succumbed to a technical knock out by Fijabi in round three.
In the first bout of the night, Sadiq "Happy Boy" Adeleke scored a second round technical knockout against Taiwo " Twin Warrior " Kareem.
In other bouts, Kabiru Towolawi knocked out Adewale Masebinu in round three, Sule Olagbade recorded a seventh round knockout over Wahab Adebisi, while Ibadan favourite Akeem Sadiku made light work of Saka Kazeem, knocking him out in just round one.
