Babatunde: ‘I Hope To Score 10 More Goals For Raja’

Raja Casablanca midfielder, Michael Babatunde, has set himself a target of ten goals before the end of the Brotola Moroccan league.

The Nigerian winger who scored his fourth league goal of the campaign in his side's 5-2 win over Moghreb Tétouan to move one point close to second place FUS Rabat and five adrift Wydad Casablanca who lost 2-1 to Hassania Agadir, attributed his goalscoring form to his new attacking role in the team.

Babatunde who spent four years in Ukraine playing for Kryvbas, Volyn and Dnipro, never scored more than three goals in a season.

"I'm sure it's where I play that brings the goals and it's a challenge to me to score more," Babatunde told‎

"The manager and I see my best position. Hopefully, I can get a good run of games and repay the manager and score goals for the team. I hope to score 10 or more goals again.

Babatunde also revealed he will jump at a chance to represent the national U-23 team at the Olympics if invited.

"Why not! Who will turn the invitation to the Olympic team down?," the 22 year old playmaker asked.

Babatunde who currently has nine assists to his name, insists that Raja Casablanca are still capable of out-witting their title rivals following their recent winning streak.

Raja Casablanca are unbeaten in their last six games and with eight games left to play in the league, the Nigerian international says next month's derby against Wydad Casablanca could decide the title.

"It’s my first year at the club and I will be glad if we can win the title. We are just five points away from the leaders and with eight games anything is possible.

"Wydad Casablanca are doing well at the moment and our home game against them will be crucial."

Raja Casablanca  will face Khouribga next Sunday.
