Babatunde Vows To Return Stronger

An optimistic Michael Babatunde has vowed to return to action better and stronger than ever after he was discharged from hospital yesterday.

The Nigerian international remains in good spirit after he successfully underwent a meniscus surgery on his left knee which will keep him out of action for three weeks.

Babatunde has made just three appearances so far this season, and hasn’t appeared since October, but hopes to showcase his ability when he returns to full fitness.

The 21-year-old revealed that Super Eagles boss Stephen Keshi advised him not pursue a ‘quick fix’ that could leave lasting damage.

“I followed Keshi’s advice. I went to a consultant in Kiev and it was a great decision.”

“I’ll get fit again and I’ll be stronger but that’s all part and parcel of football. I will definitely fight for my country and my club and try to make sure we win every game, as will my team-mates. I’ll give 100 per cent.

“When I’m fully fit again I’ll be able to produce better performances. I’m really convinced of that.” he told Complete Sports.

He also prayed the Eagles win their two remaining fixtures against Congo and South Africa.
“We have to win those games and I’d be praying for my teammates as they battle Congo and South Africa.’
