Nigeria defender, Leon Balogun, is gutted to see Brighton and Hove Albion succumb to a 2-1 home defeat to Chelsea in their Premier League clash at the Amex Stadium on Sunday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports
Balogun who played the entire 90 minutes of the game also rues his part in Chelsea’s second goal of the game.
The big centre-back’s wayward pass enabled Willian to tee Eden Hazard off in the first half with the Belgian racing past Brighton’s defence to register Chelsea’s second goal of the game.
Pedro Rodriguez had earlier scored the curtain for Chelsea after he was beautifully set up by Hazard.
Solomon March’s 66th minute strike was however not enough for the home team who battled hard to find an equaliser in the closing stages of the game.
A visibly distraught Balogun took to Twitter to express his frustration after the game and thanked the home fans for their massive support.
“Sad ending to what I think was an overall strong team performance. Very disappointed to leave the Amex empty handed today & absolutely gutted how I contributed to that outcome. Thanks for your support,” Balogun tweeted.
Balogun has made six Premier League appearances for the Seagulls this season, scoring one goal.
