Balogun: Eagles Vs Cameroun Will Be Tough

FSV Mainz 05 and Super Eagles right-back Leon Balogun has revealed the determination of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon to defeat Nigeria in the international friendly match billed for October 11 in Brussels.

Balogun spoke to in Mainz, of his findings from the camp of the Indomitable Lions who have intense rivalry with the Super Eagles.

“Our match against Cameroun is going to be very tough, believe me,” Balogun told

” They are not coming for friendly as it were, and that reflects in their very strong line-up (list of invitees) for the match.

“They’ve got very good players in their lineup to show how serious they take the match.”

Balogun who has become a mainstay in the Eagles specifically revealed to, his source of information in the Lions’ camp‎.

” I know two of their players who play at Schalke 04 : Choupo-Moting and Joel Matip, and we speak sometimes, especially Choupo because his wife is a cousin to my friend. So we’ve got a sort of connection there.

“(From our chats) it’s obvious they’re not taking the match lightly.

“It’s gonna be a tough game which is good for us as it will also help us measure the level of Nigerian football at the moment.”

The Super Eagles will play Congo three days before the clash against Cameroon.
