Brighton and Hove Albion Nigerian defender Leon Balogun admits that the Seagull players were amazed by the quality of Chelsea ace Eden Hazard in Sunday’s Premier League clash which ended 2-1 in favour of The Blues at the Amex Stadium.
Hazard scored one and created the other for Pedro Rodriguez as Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea side recorded consecutive wins in the EPL. However, a goal from Solomon March was not enough to give the hosts a point against Tihe Blues.
“He’s unbelievable,” Balogun told the London Evening Standard when asked about Hazard.
“We just spoke about it in the dressing room. He’s as quick with the ball as he is without it. His control is magnificent, so it’s very hard to…you cannot control him, really. It’s hard.
“You can get the ball off him if he makes a mistake. Most of the time it’s about delaying him – I think we did very well [with that].”
Balogun admits he had thought that Hazard’s assist for Pedro’s goal was a bit lucky but said it took nothing away from the fact the Chelsea star is a world-class player.
“He assisted one, but even that, it was a bit lucky because he shoots, the ball gets blocked, it comes back to his feet, then he has a little bit of an advantage, but then obviously he knows what to do with it. He’s a world-class player,”Balogun remarked.Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
