Balogun Shifts Attention To Argentina Clash After Iceland Win

By Adeboye Amosu

Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun has shifted attention to Tuesday’s crucial 2018 FIFA World Cup Group D clash against Argentina at the Krestovsky Stadium, St Petersburg following Friday’s win against Iceland, Completesportsnigeria. com reports.

Gernot Rohr’s men bounced back into contention following a 2-0 win against Iceland with Ahmed Musa grabbing a brace.

Defeat would have ended the Super Eagles hopes of progressing into the second round after they went down to a 2-0 defeat against Croatia in their first game.

“Recovered, bounced back & got that Win. And it tastes so sweet. Great opportunity in our hands now, so focus is on Tuesday already – let’s make it happen 🙏🏽
#WorldCup2018 #NigerianSupereagles #FlyLikeAnEagle #,” Balogun wrote on his Twitter handle.

A win or draw against Argentina in their final group game will be enough for the Super Eagles to move into the second round depending on the outcome of the game between Croatia and Iceland.

@bestsports, if i  remember correctly,  you predicted that we will lose to Iceland. Didn’t see Messi flying past the Croats. Rather, more like snailing.

@Abdulrazak i KNOW but you know we have to express worries and fears so that our dear super Eagles will sit up and observe our points during the games!
