Chief Rumson Victor Baribote has accused the Alhaji Aminu Maigari led faction of NFF of abandoning due process in the lingering crisis rocking Nigeria football.
The Nembe City Football Club proprietor and sole financier reckons that the election of Ambassador Chris Giwa was done through due process, stating that any aggrieved party has laid down process to seek redress and obtain justice.
“The NFF board was duly dissolved. The President then, Alhaji Aminu Maigari was absent and the statutes gives the first vice president power to preside over which Chief Mike Umeh did.
“Election was called for and seconded. The electoral committee who were present conducted the election. So if anyone felt aggrieved he should go to the appeals committee which they failed to do.”
Baribote who remains optimistic of FIFA not banning Nigeria and Chris Giwa running the NFF contended that the mandate of the House Committee on Sports was not binding on the Chris Giwa led NFF.
“The committee is not a judge, what they did was part of their over-sight function but not final. Instead, such issues should be discussed at the full house of the Assembly.
