One of Nigeria's representatives at the ongoing FIBA-Africa Champions Cup for Women in Luanda, Angola, Dolphins Basketball Club on Monday signaled their determination to compete for the title as they recorded a convincing 68-57 victory over Radi Basketball Club to secure the two points at stake in the encounter, reports.

The Nigerian team who made it to the final phase from the Zone Three qualifiers played in Cotonou, Benin Republic last month, lost the first two quarters but bounced back in the second half to beat their opponents in the club competition.

Radi took the lead in the first quarter with 14-5 points and also ensured another lead in the second quarter with narrow 14-12 points to end the first half with 28-17 points lead.

But the Nigeria team led by coach Okworogun Ochuko Joy did not give up in the second half as they doubled their efforts to bounce back in the match.

Dolphins however finished the third quarter with an impressive performance that saw them winning with 21-18 points.
The Nigerian girls however were able to win the fourth quarter with a wide margin of 30-11 points to end the game with a 68-57 points win.

Meanwhile, another Nigerian representative in the 12-team club tournament, First Bank Basketball Club, bounced back after their opening defeat in the hands of InterClube of Angola to beat KCCA Basketball Club of Uganda 81-62.
The Elephant Girls won three quarters and lost one in the game.

The first quarter ended 27-21 in favour of the Nigerian girls as they beat the Ugandans 25-15 points in the second quarter to end the first half with 52-36 points lead.

The third quarter could not however produce anything good from the girls as they lost 16-15 to the Ugandans. The victory was however sealed in the fourth quarter when they came back to take 19-20 points lead to end the game 87-71.
