Bayern 100% Behind Guardiola

Bayern 100% Behind Guardiola

Munich failed to bounce back after hitting rock bottom last week. However, there was a feeling after the match on Tuesday that they had at least beaten Barcelona. In that sense, the win will serve them well going forward.

Now nobody is asking whether Pep Guardiola is leaving or whether he is going to see out the year he has left on his contract. The win over Barça pacified some of the voices inside the club and restored some measure of pride to Germany's richest and most successful club.

The Bayern boss has the full backing of those in charge of the club, especially its chairman, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, as well as another of the club's heavyweights, Uli Hoeness. They both have his back, as do the big names within the dressing room.

The players are also behind their boss. They don't hold anything against him. For example, they know full well transfer policy is not just down to the coach, but also to the club's director of football, Mathias Sammer, whose relationship with Guardiola is cordial, but not as close as Hoeness or Rummenigge's.
