Bayern Munich have retained the German Super Cup after defeating Borussia Dortmund 5-4 on penalties at the Signal Iduna Park, on Saturday.
Both teams were tied at 2-2 after 90 minutes of football.
Christian Pulisic gave Dortmund the lead in the 12th minute but Robert Lewandowski equalised for Bayern Munich in the 18th minute.
In the 71st minute, former Africa Player of the Year Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a goal that would have been the winner for Dortmund's first silverware of the season, but that was not the situation in the end.
With just two minutes remaining, an own goal by Dortmund's Roman Buerki dragged the game into extra time.
The win means Bayern are now the most successful team in the German Super Cup with six trophies while Dortmund have five trophies.
The last time Dortmund won the German Super Cup was in 2014 when they defeated Bayern Munich 2-0.
Last season Bayern Munich were crowned Bundesliga champions while Dortmund beat Eintract Frankfurt to win the DFB Pokal.
