German giants Bayern Munich have confirmed Serge Gnabry tore his thigh muscle during their Bundesliga win against RB Leipzig. The forward started the 1-0 win on Wednesday but had to be replaced by Franck Ribery during the first half.
Ribery grabbed the winning goal but the victory came at a price, with Gnabry now out of Saturday’s game against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Confirming the injury, Bayern said in a statement on their official website: “FC Bayern will have to play the last Bundesliga game of the year on Saturday without Serge Gnabry. “The winger suffered a torn thigh muscle in his left leg in the home game against RB Leipzig on Wednesday night (1-0) and will miss the match against Eintracht. Gnabry went off injured on 28 minutes.”
