Mohamed Abdelnaby who was Man of the Match in Egypt's 4-2 win over Cote d'Ivoire on Thursday night, hopes to face the Sand Eagles of Nigeria in the final of the 2016 CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
After losing their opening game against the Sand Eagles, Egypt bounced back in the tournament with a 5-4 win against Ghana in the first Group A match Thursday night.
Egypt confirmed their passage into the semi-finals with a hard-earned 4-2 win against Cote d'Ivoire with Abdelnaby scoring Egypt's first goal.
Speaking after the match with Cote d'Ivoire, Abdelnaby described it as a very tough game.
"It was a diffifcult game for us, but thank God we emerged victorious," an elated Abdelnaby told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"We went into the game believing that we can win and that was exactly what happened, so we are very happy."
Abdelnaby added: "We are in the semi-final, and insha Allah, we will be in the final and I hope we face Nigeria in the final."
