Egypt edged Ghana 5-4 in a close and nerve-racking game of Group A at the 2016 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations on Wednesday night, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
It is Egypt's first win of the tournament after losing to Nigeria's Super Sand Eagles on matchday 1 on Tuesday.
Ghana, meanwhile are out following their defeat to Egypt which was their second of the tournament.
Ghana raced to a 2-0 lead through Richard Osai and Mohammed Husseini in the 3rd and 11th minute respectively, in the first period.
But in the final minute (12th minute) of the first period, Ahmed Abouserei gave Egypt a lifeline by halving the deficit.
In the second period, Egypt's Abouserei grabbed his second goal on second minute to make it 2-2.
Four minutes later Reuben Semabia scored to give Ghana a 3-2 lead, but goals from Moustafa Samir and Mohamed Abdelnaby on eight and 12 minutes put Egypt 4-3 ahead going into the final period.
In the seventh minute of the final period, Kofi Aziz brought Ghana back into the game at 4-4.
And in the last minute of the final period, Egypt scored, thanks to Abdelnaby strike to end the tension soaked game 5-4 to Egypt.
