Madagascar have claimed the fifth place finish in the 2016 CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations after beating Cote d'Ivoire 4-3 on Sunday at the Eko Atlantic Beach Lagos, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
It was Madagascar's third win of the tournament after beating Libya in the group stage and defeating Ghana in the play-off game on Saturday.
Kouao Djimi put Cote d'Ivoire in front in the fifth minute of the first period.
One minute to the end of the first period Regis Del equalised for Madagascar.
And with just seconds remaining, Cote d'Ivoire took the lead again this time through Kablan Aka.
The second period was a keenly contested one as both teams couldn't get on the score sheet.
In the final period Madagascar drew level through Raza Flavien on four minutes but went behind again in the seventh minute thanks to Aka who grabbed his second goal to make it 3-2.
And in the final minutes Madagascar came from behind to score two goals which came off Flavien and Pierralit to win the game 4-3.
