Bournemouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic says he wants to impress at club level as he tries to earn more international caps. The Bosnia & Herzegovina international is out of the picture at the moment despite playing in all 10 of their World Cup qualifiers.Bosnia finished third in Group H behind Belgium and Greece but Robert Prosinecki has dropped him from his recent squads.
Ibrahim Sehic and Kenan Piric are currently fighting it out for the number one spot but Begovic is hoping he can impress for the Cherries. He has played in the club’s first four Premier League games and is confident his form can catch the eye ahead of the next round of friendlies.
Begovic told the Bournemouth Echo: “I wasn’t in the squad this time. I’ll keep working hard and see what happens and, hopefully, get called up for the next games.
“I’d like to keep playing while I feel good but these are the manager’s choices and that’s just the way it goes.
“I’ve had a good nine or 10 years. The manager has his reasons for what he wants to do and that’s just the way football goes. I will keep working hard, keep playing for my club and see what happens.”
