Bournemouth need to ‘kick on’ in their upcoming matches after losing their unbeaten record, goalkeeper Asmir Begovic has said. The Cherries went into Saturday’s trip to Chelsea with two wins and a draw from their opening three matches and, despite a resolute performance, they ultimately slipped to a 2-0 reverse as goals from Pedro and Eden Hazard gave the Blues victory inside the final 20 minutes.
Despite the disappointment of losing the game, former Chelsea keeper, Begovic, was pleased with the overall performance from Eddie Howe’s side.
And, with a visit of Leicester after the two-week international break and a trip to early-season strugglers Burnley also in September, the Bosnian custodian is looking for the players to get more points on the board.
Begovic told AFCBTV: “With a bit of luck I think we could’ve got a result, but it wasn’t meant to be.
“Overall, a pleasing performance. We challenged one of the best teams in the league.
“We kept them at bay for most of the game and we just couldn’t hold out in the end.
“We’ve had a pretty good start over four games. We’ll keep going.
“We just have to kick on now. We’ve got a lot of games coming up and games we need to take points from.”
