Bizarre!: Minister Pays Keshi N14m!

Bizarre!: Minister Pays Keshi N14m!

–As salary for two months

Out-of-contract Super Eagles head coach Stephen Keshi has been reportedly paid N14m for the two months he worked after his contract elapsed in July.

An African football website reported that Keshi was paid the said sum by Tammy Danagogo,the Sports Minister albeit he (Keshi) was out of contract with the NFF and didn’t even receive the said sum when his contract was running.

The website quoted an unnamed source thus: “The minister has been paying Keshi directly from the NFF subvention without any input from the NFF.

“This cannot be good for the relationship between employer and employee.”

Keshi was in charge for the 2014 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers double header against Sudan in October and then the qualifiers against Congo and South Africa last month.

NFF president Amaju Pinnick has maintained a contract has not been agreed with Keshi contrary to media reports that the coach will now be paid a monthly salary of seven million Naira, a two million Naira raise from what he received in his initial contract, which ran out after the World Cup in Brazil.

“We have not come to an agreement yet (with Keshi),” he said.

The frosty relationship between the NFF and Keshi has worsened after the federation were ordered to re-instate the coach at the end of October.

And this latest revelation can only tear employer and employee further apart.

    Must keshi coach Nigeria by force? Where are those countries he said they were after him? Ole. He should walk away from our national team. We don’t want you keshi. Go go go

  • @Gabriel… I dont really understand why thsi ogogoro master called Danagogo is doing this. I remember then shortly before the end of the World Cup, he was behind that crisis in NFF by instigating the Baribotes and the Giwas to go to court in order to protect Keshi from being sacked. He knew Keshi’s contract would not be renewed by the then NFF led by Maigari and in order to forestall that, he made sure that ther was no peace in the NFF. The beat goes on. The Minister and his GEJ boss are the ones imposing Keshi on NFF. From the story line above, it is now clear that the goverment of GEJ are the ones imposing Keshi on NFF against the wish of Nigerians and I’m not sure how far Keshi thinks he can go with this development. The Keshi that I know is not someone who has the interest of his country at heart, if he does, he will walk away. He is only interested in what he can amass or how do you explain rewarding a failure with a salary increase of #2m when he failed in his tasks. I dey siddon look how this will end.

    @GABRIEL/@OLU…it seems both of u got problem with KESHI but if the NFF go pick up a coach from any european country and offer him 10M monthly salary you wont start complain bcos hes white coach enit ?..and the fact that both of you really believe this cooked up story shows there is no diffrence between you and the craps at the NFF..Leave KESHI alone and go get busy..

      @Saint Palmer

      You are free to support Keshi if you chose, but how does paying a coach N2 million greater than his normal salary make sense after he failed to qualify the team. Additionally your Mr. Keshi also breached the contract agreement with Adidas. FYI Keshi is the coach Adidas is refering to. Keshi breached aggreement/ contract, Keshi failed to qualify Nigeria for AFCON 2015, Keshi lacks intergrity and ethics, and is running a profit making scheme with the super eagles. Yet you always come online to show blind and unwarranted support for a man that started well for Nigeria by winning AFCON 2013, but allowed greed and selfishness to make him act against the interest of Nigerian football. Now Nigeria is going in the wrong direction

      Nigeria is a team on the decline with a coach that lacks moral integrity. No serious company in the world or adidas wants to deal with such rubbish. You need to wake up. Nigeria is now on a decline. Nigeria(a country of over 150 million) missed 2 AFCONS in 3 years. That is a disgrace and a disaster of biblical proportions.
