Boavista hope to conclude thrashing out personal terms with Nigeria international Michael Uchebo on or before Thursday, the intermediary that recommended the lanky forward to the Portuguese setup has told SL10.ng.
The contract is not yet in the bag after a meeting that was scheduled to hold last weekend failed to take place.
The player and his manager Tony Harris are both in Portugal awaiting the outcome of negotiations between the parties.
“I was in touch with my Portuguese partner on Sunday. The Boavista President had a busy schedule so he failed to fly from Porto to Boavista to continue negotiations. The meeting did not hold,” football scout Michael Nicholas said.
“He is traveling today or tomorrow to meet with the president to conclude talks. Hopefully, Michael Uchebo will sign for Boavista three days from now if we can reach an agreement.
“Michael Uchebo and his agent (manager) Tony Harris are presently in Portugal.”
Though nothing has been cast in stone, everything is pointing to the fact the Michael Uchebo will wear the black and white checkered shirt of Boavista this season.
The 24-year-old made his Nigeria debut in the United States in a pre-World Cup friendly against Mexico held in March.
