Former Super Eagles coach Bonfrere has received the keys to a three-bedroom apartment in Abuja as reward for his role in Nigeria Africa Cup of Nations win title in 1994.
The Dutchman according to BBC Pidgin was presented with the keys to the apartment by Power, Works and Housing minister Babatunde Raji Fashola.
The pledge was made to Bonfrere, his players and other members of the technical crew 24 years ago by the then head of state, the late General Sani Abacha.
Bonfrere was assistant coach to fellow Dutchman Clemens Westerhof in 1994 but he was head coach two years later when Nigeria won men’s football gold at the Atlanta Olympics.
