Bordeaux Reach Agreement With Gent For Nigerian Winger Kalu

By Adeboye Amosu:

French Ligue 1 side, Girondix Bordeaux, have announced they have reached an agreement with Belgian club, KAA Gent for the transfer of Nigerian winger, Samuel Kalu, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

”We inform you that an agreement has been reached, subject to the signing of all administrative documents, with @KAAGent, for the transfer of Samuel #Kalu,” reads a tweet on the club’s Twitter handle on Sunday.

Kalu, 22, is seen as an ideal replacement for Malcom who joined Spanish champions Barcelona this summer for €30m from Bordeaux.

It was reported on Saturday that Bordeaux will pay €8m for the player who has two years remaining on his current contract with Gent.

Kalu scored seven league goals in 32 appearances for Gent last season in the Belgian Juliper League.

He joined KAA Gent from AS Trencin of Slovakia in 2016.

Good news! Players like these are the future of the Super Eagles, not the ones heading to Saudi Arabia.

Players like Samuel Kalu need to be fast tracked into the Super Eagles. His all round display for Gent last season and this upward progression move to Bordeaux are enough to earn him a national team invite.

He is quick, fast, packs good shots in both feet, great technique and fearless! These are the qualities we need in Nigerian strikers going forward; and Rohr should deploy him as one of the two forwards in our new favorite formation of 3-5-2! I can bet, his commbo with any other fast and intelligent striker will be unstopable
