Boxers from different parts of Nigeria have started arriving in Lagos for National Open Boxing Championship organised by the Nigeria Boxing Federation (NBF),Completesportsnigeria.com reports .
This was revealed to Completesportsnigeria.com by Nigeria boxing head coach, Tony Konyegwachi.
The National Open Boxing Championship which will run from Sunday, 19 to Saturday, 25 February 2017, is billed for the National Stadium, Lagos.
"Boxers from different parts of the country are already in Lagos for the championship," Konyegwachi told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"We are still expecting more of the boxers because it's going to be an exciting championship."
Konyegwachi went on to explain the essence of the championship.
"We want to use the championship to discover new boxing talents who will take over from the old guards and the best place to discover such talents is in an open championship like this," he said.
"The championship is open to boxers from boxing clubs, militaryand paramilitary."
