Nigeria’s Larry Ekundayo is hoping to be in contention to fight in the Commonwealth category in 2017 after defeating Arvydas Trizno at Tolworth Recreation Centre Surbiton, United Kingdom reports, Completesportsnigeria.com.
Ekundayo recorded his 12th straight win of his career, edging the Lithuanian by technical knockout.
The 34 yer old pugilist who is African International Masters Champion also revealed to Completesportsnigeria.com
Despite his age, Ekundayo says he could still make it to the top.
"Thanks to all the fans that came out and supported me, I am hoping to make Nigeria happy and win titles to give the whole country something to cheer about," Ekundayo told Completesportsnigeria.com
"If I get to fight in the Commonwealth category and I win a title, then I will immediately be ranked in the top 15 by all the leading boxing organisations.
"And once that is attained, my chances of getting a world title shot are much stronger,” he reiterated.
