Pinnick Wins CAF Executive Committee Election

Nigeria Football Federation President Amaju Pinnick has been elected into the powerful Confederation of African Football executive committee, reports.

Pinnick will represent the West Zone B after defeating Benin Republic’s Moucharafou Anjorin in Thursday’s election.

Pinnick, who is a supporter of new CAF President Ahmad Ahmad, got 32 votes to Anjorin’s 17 to get a seat on CAF’s highest decision making organ.

The NFF President is now the highest-ranking Nigeria in CAF.

Pinnick’s tenure as an executive committee member will run from 2017 to 2021.

Others candidates elected into the CAF executive committiee include Sierra Leone’s Isha Johansen, Amadou Diakite from Mali, Fouzi Lekjaa, South Africa’s Danny Jordaan, Rui Eduardo da Caosta, Frans Mbidi and Suleiman Waberi.
