Bordeaux are reportedly closing in on the signing of forward Jimmy Briand, much to the disappointment of rivals Guingamp.
The former France international, who won five caps for his country, looks set to move to the Matmut Atlantique on a two-year deal, although there is believed to be some confusion
regarding the fee.
Guingamp apparently agreed to terminate Briand’s contract with them so he could join MLS club Montreal Impact earlier in the summer, but that move subsequently broke down.
Briand and Guingamp had entered an agreement that meant the 33-year-old would not join another Ligue 1 club if, as has happened, his move to the MLS failed to materialise.
However, that agreement now looks set to be broken, with Bordeaux and Guingamp set to negotiate some kind of deal for the former Lyon star.
Bordeaux have money to spend following the high-profile departure of Malcom to Barcelona, for a fee believed to be around €40million, earlier in the summer.
Since then, they have already brought in the likes of Nigerian winger Samuel Kalu and Croatian youth international midfielder Toma Basic over recent days.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
