Nottinghamshire and England fast bowler Stuart Broad is looking forward to 2019 after being awarded a testimonial year by the county. The 32-year-old has put in 10 years with the Trent Bridge outfit although his appearances for Notts have been limited by international cricket commitments.
He joined the country from Leicestershire in 2008 and has gone from strength to strength, taking 433 Test wickets and 706 first-class scalps in total.
Add to that nearly 5,000 first-class runs and it is clear why Notts have decided to offer him the testimonial.
Broad will donate funds raised throughout 2019 to Motor Neurone Disease research and the Trent Bridge Community Trust and the paceman feels there is plenty to get excited about over the next 12 months.
“It’s an honour to have been recognised in this manner,” he said. “I’m already looking forward to it.
“It’s going to be an exciting year in 2019. A home Ashes series, the Cricket World Cup and a strong Nottinghamshire squad that has the ability to challenge for trophies in all three formats.”Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
