Bruno has praised the performance levels of Jurgen Locadia for Brighton despite him coming under fire after a poor miss at Burnley. The Seagulls skipper spoke out in defence of the 25-year-old forward, who moved to the Amex Stadium from Dutch side PSV Eindhoven in January.
Locadia has made 10 appearances in the Premier League but is yet to find the net for Chris Hughton’s side, while he spurned a golden opportunity to snatch a point for the Seagulls in last weekend’s 1-0 defeat at Burnley.
However, speaking ahead of Sunday’s testing home clash against Chelsea, Bruno claims Locadia’s style of player offers a lot to the team.
He told the Argus: “That is what we expect from players when they come from the bench, to have that impact. “He held the ball, he was setting the ball to the midfielders for switch of play. And after that, he was getting inside the box. “With that system we played, the 4-3-3, it allowed him to play wide. I think it is a good position for him as well.”
