Burnley defender James Tarkowski insists it is too early to panic after making a poor start to their domestic season. The Clarets kicked off their competitive action early in 2018-19 as they entered the Europa League in the second qualifying round.
Their hopes of making the group stage look slim as they trail 3-1 heading into Thursday’s play-off second-round tie with Olympiacos.
Burnley’s exploits in Europe appear to have affected their performances in the Premier League and they are without a win from their first three outings.
Tarkoswki admits their start has been far from perfect but insists the squad will work hard to get things back on track.
“It’s only us who can change it, which we’ll be working hard to do,” he said. “There’s only us who can really change it so we’ve got to concentrate on getting things right and working at it.
“We know how good we can be and it’s only early season so we’re not too worried but things need to change.
“It’s very early season but we need to sort it out. We don’t want to continue this form where we’re conceding a lot of goals.”
